United
Divers is one of the few dive centers in the nation that can provide
the training needed to archive an Advanced Open Water Diver rating.
This Advanced Diver rating stands alone in the industry with the
highest combination of diving knowledge and experience. No other dive
training center's advanced diver level compares.
United Divers also provides a Continuing Education System
that is designed to let you personalize your education to become the
type of diver you want to be. This system can earn you a Continuing
Education Rating
such as Advanced Open Water Diver and Master Diver. The Continuing
Education Rating are the only ratings in the industry that combine
training and experience requirements, proving that ratings provided by
United Divers are truly earned -- our reputations depends on it!

Prerequisites:
Open
Water Diver Course or equivalent.
Knowledge: The intent of this
training is to help you to become an Advanced Diver. The material
covered in this course is intended to help you gain more dive
experience with the benefit of being supervised by a certified SCUBA
Training Professional. It includes a self-study guide and some home
study to be completed and reviewed before your open water dives. This
course builds on the material you were presented with in your open
water certification course.
Skills: The Advanced Open
Water Diver training dives will introduce you to a variety of popular
specialty diving areas, including dive experiences in deep diving,
night diving and underwater navigation, Wreck diving, and Underwater
Naturalist diving as well as, a more buoyancy control practice at
deeper dive levels. You will see critters and conditions in your
Advanced Open Water course that you did not see in your Open Water
course. This course thoroughly covers the area of compass usage
underwater to enable you to know where you are at any give point in the
dive. However, the emphasis of this level of instruction is to provide
you with a wide range of dive experience which will enable you to gain
a level of independence that will insure that you achieve a safer more
pleasurable level of diver competence.

Overview:
Dive Control Specialist (DIVECON) is United Divers' initial dive
leadership level and is considered by many as the "fun" leadership
rating. That's because you can do more than any other entry-level dive
leader. You can do more because you receive both dive
master and assistant instructor
training in the Dive Control Specialist course. With other
agencies, these courses are separate. United Divers is currently
looking for DiveCons or divers looking to become DiveCons to join our
instruction staff.
Knowledge: As a Dive Control
Specialist you can:
Work on dive boats, at
resorts and retail stores, and take people diving
Lead dive trips and tours
Assist Dive Instructors in
the pool and open water
Teach skills in the pool
under the direct supervision of an Dive Instructor
Teach the Scuba Skills Update
program
Teach the Snorkeling program
Teach selected Specialty
courses
Teach selected First Aid and
CPR programs
Skills: You will study
advanced physics, physiology and decompression theory. You'll practice
advanced rescue techniques, fine-tune your diving skills and learn the
basics of teaching. Plus, there's a high demand for Dive Control
Specialists at retail shops and exotic resorts.

Prerequisites:
Enrollment is limited to six individuals. Please call ahead for
additional information and requirements.
Overview: This highly specialized program will help you
develop into a qualified Dive-Cons and Scuba Instructor. Unlike some
other Instructor Training course that are "week long crash courses",
our intensive program evolves over a 13-week period.
Learn to be a Scuba Instructor the "United Divers Way." Most instructor
programs focus only on teaching diving. However, most dive businesses
require much more of instructors than merely teaching. The Instructor
Training Course (ITC) prepares you to become an active
member of the scuba industry, a successful educator, and a valuable
dive business employee.
Knowledge: The program
includes all aspects of instruction to include:
Techniques for recruiting,
teaching and evaluating students
The United Divers' provided
Education System and Education Philosophy
How dive industry
stakeholders interact (manufacturers, media, agencies, retail and
travel)
How successful dive retailers
and resorts operate
Effective techniques for
teaching in the pool and open water
Legal aspects of teaching
The basics of educational
sales using Customer Loyalty Cycle
Skills: United Divers'
Instructors possess business knowledge that instructors from other
agencies don't. The expanded course content of the ITC gives you an
edge over "teaching only" programs and makes you a much more valuable,
well-rounded employee. Additionally, once qualified you will be able to
teach:
Try Scuba Course
Passport Diver Course
Open Water Diver Course
Scuba Skills Update Course

Dive Instructor. Specialty courses offer variety and are convenient and

Instructors may qualify to teach specialty courses by attending one of
United Divers' seminars, co-teaching with an Advanced Open Water
Instructor or by documenting significant experience. Instructors must
also purchase the course teaching materials for the particular
specialty they wish to teach. And when an Instructor is qualified to
