| Format of Open Water Diver Course At United Divers we break up the Open Water Diver course into two parts: academic/pool training and open water certification dives. Students have the option to complete their open water dives elsewhere while on vacation and therefore are only required to take the academic/pool portion of the program and we would provide you with referral paperwork to take with you. Registration Please stop by United Divers to fill out required paperwork and watch a fifteen minute risk awareness video about scuba diving. Have a look at the Medical Questionnaire prior to registering - any "yes" answers require the approval of a physician. All students are required to provide their own mask, snorkel, fins and boots - these are personal fit items and will make your scuba experience more enjoyable. ** You will receive a $50 gift card to use at United Divers to help purchase these items when you register for an open water diver course. ** United Divers has a wide selection of gear and has trained staff that can help you chose items that fit you. You will also need the student kit, which includes the manual, dive tables and a logbook. Fees for Open Water Diver Course Course Options $295 - Evening course option: meets twice a week in the evening for three consecutive weeks OR once a week for six consecutive weeks, includes $50 gift card OR $325 - Weekend course option: meets one full weekend, both Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 5:30pm, includes $50 gift card. Students are expected to have completed ALL coursework prior to the start of the course. Student Kit Options $49.95 - Economy student kit: includes course manual, plastic dive tables, supplemental reading material and poly logbook OR $59.95 - Deluxe student kit: includes course manual, plastic dive tables, supplemental reading material and deluxe zip logbook Certification Options $150 - Certification dives: two full days of scuba diving including all required scuba gear and processing for your certification card OR $29.95 - Referral process: we provide referral paperwork for you to complete your dives on vacation, includes processing for your certification card For pricing on PRIVATE LESSONS and all other courses offered please contact the Training Director for details. Scuba Classes The weekend class is the most popular, yet intensive group program offered by United Divers. The weekend class is ideal for busy people who work during the week, or for those who want to be trained before their upcoming vacation. A total of four class sessions and four pool sessions are scheduled over one weekend. All divers must prepare for their class by reviewing the home study materials ahead of time. This includes reading the entire manual and answering questions from each chapter, as well as watching the required video/dvd that corresponds to the reading. It’s fun! It’s fast! It’s easy! Sign up for your weekend class now! Why wait? Weeknight Scuba Classes The weeknight class is ideal for divers who have the time to spread out the training. This class is slightly different to weekend and private classes, because although you receive your course materials when you register, you are only expected to be prepared for one section of the manual each night, spreading the reading over several sessions. Additionally, the video/dvd that corresponds to the reading is not required, though is highly recommended. Take the class on your way home from work in the evening and before you know it you’re on your way to the ocean! Private Scuba
Classes There is no better way to learn Scuba Diving than with United Divers' one-on-one instruction. Our private classes are designed specifically to fit your hectic schedule, and with enough notice we can set up a private course for your family. All you need to do is complete the home study program and plan for a minimum of 16 hours of class and pool instruction. You call the shots; we will bring the gear! All divers must prepare for their class by reviewing the home study materials ahead of time, including watching the video/dvd that corresponds to the reading. |
