Thanks for renting gear from us! We hope you have a great time diving. There are several things to bear in mind to insure the best experience:
** Bring your certification card - without this we cannot rent gear to you!! **
Check Gear out as you receive it
- You are ultimately responsible for keeping track of your gear, ensuring you have everything you need and that you know how to use it correctly.
- Be sure that you have both pieces of a two-piece wetsuit.
- Be sure that your rental BC has a whistle and octopus holder.
- Be sure that your gauges and compass are present and not cracked.
- Be sure that the regulators connect to the power inflator and it operates correctly.
- Be sure the regulators are not free-flowing.
- Be sure tanks are full to their working pressure.
- Our staff can answer any questions you have about any of these steps.
Tips for using our gear
- Locate the power inflator manual and dump valves on your BC.
- Know where adjustment and release straps are on your Be.
- Know how to dump your weights in an emergency.
- Know how to attach regulators to a tank and how to purge them.
- Keep regulators out of sand and silt to ensure their protection. ** (cleaning fee applies if returned full of sand)
- Do not store weights in bags with gauges and other fragile items. ** (replacement fee applies if gear is returned broken)
Return the gear clean
- Wetsuits, hoods, mitts and boots should be rinsed with clean water inside and out
- Regulators should be rinsed at a minimum and soaked when possible.
- Be sure to have the dust cap on the first stage and NOT to purge regulators while soaking. ** (cleaning fee applies if returned without dust cap in place)
- The outside of BCs should be rinsed with clean water.
- The BCs should be drained then rinsed with clean water by holding the manual inflator button with the hose at the mouthpiece. If the water has any salty taste when draining, further rinsing is needed.
- There is a hose available at the front door of the shop.
- A cleaning fee of $20 may be assessed for unclean returns.
- You may be billed for inspection and cleaning of tanks returned under 200 PSI.
Have gear back on time
- Gear rented Monday through Friday is due back before 5pm the next day.
- Saturday evening one-day rentals are due back before 12pm Monday.
Have a fun safe experience!
- Don't hesitate to ask us any questions you may have.
- Inform us of any equipment problems so we can be sure to correct them before the gear is rented again
- Save your receipt, call ahead, and we can have your next rental ready for you when you arrive to pick it up.
United Divers is a fully equipped full service repair facility where our trained technicians perform equipment maintenance, repair, and assembly every day. All equipment is fully assembled and tested before you receive it.
All of our technicians must attend regular product update seminars to stay current on all improvements and modifications of technical scuba equipment. This level of dedication not only guarantees quality workmanship, but also gives you the peace of mind to know that your equipment will work when you need it most -- underwater!
We also provide custom tailoring and restorations in-house, full service inspections, quality gear rental, and a variety of tank fill options to meets your diving needs.
United Divers' Rent-to-Own Program allows the dollars that you pay for renting scuba equipment to be applied to future equipment purchases.
It works like
this: each piece of equipment has a daily rate
of rental,
for instance, a regulator is $16 dollars per day. You can apply up to 5
days' rental charges, in this case, $80, to future purchase of any new
brand or model of regulator.
This program applies to equipment rented for either local or
vacation
use. This changes SCUBA equipment rental from an irreclaimable expense
to a purchase plan!
Prices and packages are subject to change without notice.
Rent to own only applies to tanks, regulators, BC's, gauges, and wetsuits
( boots, mitts, hood, and weights rentals are not eligible for the rent
to own program).
Please
contact us today for updated pricing.
**You must
provide proof
of certification for all rentals**

United
Divers knows that the pre-dive inspection and check of all dive
components is extremely important. Before every dive, this life-support
equipment should be completely checked for any damage or wear. Even
normal wear and aging will eventually result in the need to replace
parts.
That's why we offer a comprehensive Dive Gear Inspection
Service.
This allows a certified Dive Equipment Technician to inspect your dive
components for any abnormal conditions that would require repair,
removal or replacement. Our technicians will make sure that all your
dive gear mechanical components function smoothly.
Additionally, we are a DOT Licensed Hydrotest Facility that
is
certified to hydrotest dive tanks in-house.
We take diving seriously and you can never be too careful
about safety.
Cracks or heavy wear could even result in the catastrophic failure of
the part when you need it most -- to protect your life! That's why we
recommend that if any of your dive parts don't look
right to you, don't use them.
Instead, bring them in to us. We promise the most thorough inspection
on the East Coast and a quick turn-around to get you diving safely
again quickly.
Call us today for our most current inspection rates or for an
equipment
repair estimate.
